The Nomad Tissue by Jérémy Barniaud
MADAGASCAR BY JEREMY BARNIAUD
I'm Jérémy, a 23 year old photographer currently based in Paris. I recently visited Madagascar to actualize and create a project that had been on my mind for a while called The Nomad Tissue. I took this opportunity to reunite with a very good friend living in Madagascar, and we drove across the island in three weeks, photographing the people that we met during our trip. The purpose was to capture the essence of the people, and 'tie' them together with the use of a simple white cloth as my backdrop, leaving a hint of the environment where I met them visible.Working in Paris has allowed me to acquire money and travel to different parts of the world. My goal is to return to Madagascar, and also further The Nomad Tissue project in other parts of the world once I have the money. One of the best memories of this project was from the first guy that I met. Dressed in a simple hat and shirt, but he didn't realize the confidence that he gave me to carry on with the project. Meeting the people of this beautiful island was a prodigious experience that will always be dear to my heart. As a photographer and as a man, I learned to much more during a small journey in a foreign country, than I learn staying in my own town seeing the same visuals everyday.
Inspiration is everywhere.
